Enjoy the story of Fat Fox and Moon while being surrounded by beautifully carved wooden pieces at the Moonlight Exhibition by Chanathip Chuenbumroong 21 Sep ’23 – 22 Oct ’23 at CENTRAL: THE ORIGINAL STORE
The Moonlight Exhibition by Chanathip Chuenbumroong is a wood carving exhibition created by Chanathip Chuenbumroong, an artist with more than 14 years experience in wood carving and has been teaching his craft to others for the last 7 years.
Chanathip first discovered his passion in carving wooden toys which were inspired by his fascination with Japanese characters. Working on several works that reflected his inner sentiments led him to later develop the characters Fat Fox and a girl named Moon. His unique characters are reflections of his inner emotions including his daily thoughts and moods. As a result, the majority of the pieces convey stories of love, happiness, nostalgia, loneliness, and hope.
The Moonlight Exhibition by Chanathip Chuenbumroong presents the story of Fat Fox, a hopeless romantic enchanted by the constant glow of Moon, yet he is never able to grasp or possess her light. Fat Fox’s obsession for Moon’s mesmerizing glow causes him to constantly gaze longingly upon his unrequited love from the shadows. Just as we are unable to capture the moonlight in our hands, these tales serve as a reminder that there are facets of existence and living that transcend beyond the visible and material.
In this exhibition, Chanathip proudly presents over 70 masterpieces for all art enthusiasts to behold. Additionally, there are more than 80 paintings within the event, including a unique Gashapon vending machine for art aficionados to acquire special character models.
