Prof. Dr. Singh Intrachooto, Chief Advisor to the Research & Innovation for Sustainability Center (RISC), said: “RISC by MQDC under its principle of ‘For All Well-Being’ focuses on quality of life not only for residents but for society as a whole, so together with “Baanlaesuan”, the leader in content on home and garden design, we are presenting 10 RISC innovations in an accessible format to share knowledge and promote quality of life in the home through a healthier and more sustainable environment. Baanlaesuan fans and everyone can enjoy monthly updates from January 2022.

“RISC is Asia’s first research hub dedicated to sustainable development with a well-being focus. The center gathers information and has a global network of sustainability researchers. With a commitment to finding and developing innovations under its concept of ‘For All Well-Being’, the research center shares knowledge with the public to achieve a wide range of benefits. RISC has therefore partnered with ‘Baanlaesuan’ to share research and innovation insights in accessible articles. These tips can reach many people, sharing research knowledge with ‘Baanlaesuan’ readers and enthusiasts of home design with ‘10 Innovations for Healthy and Sustainable Homes’.

“RISC and ‘Baanlaesuan’ recognize the importance of housing, health, and well-being, which are becoming leading topics and key trends that attract great interest. With the PM2.5 and COVID-19 situations, people are staying indoors and working from home so they have more interest in and focus on making their homes safe, comfortable, healthy, and good for working and living. RISC and the ‘Baanlaesuan’ team have made research and innovation accessible. The insights will cover energy and environmental issues, keeping homes cool, convenient minimal design,comfortable design for older adults, construction innovations to reduce everyday issues, construction materials from waste to reduce resource use. Home and well-being topics will include poor health and accidents, making homes safer and reducing the impact on your health. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Singh added: “This initiative continues the successful collaboration earlier this year in which RISC and ‘Baanlaesuan’ covered 8 residential issues. The great response, with over 1 million hits, found that the most popular content was 10 home defects that impact physical and mental well-being, 5 home alterations to overcome insomnia in older adults, and wooden flooring for the well-being of older adults. The excellent feedback led to this cooperation, we launched another special column “10 Innovations for Healthy and Sustainable Homes” based on research and innovation in housing and well-being from RISC, provided in an accessible form by the team from ‘Baanlaesuan’, gaining a strong public response to continue working with RISC on content.”
