“ONYX Hospitality Group” announced its 2025 strategic growth plan, reaffirming its commitment to expanding its portfolio of hotels and serviced apartments, with the ultimate aim to become a leader in the regional market. This strategy reaffirms the Company’s vision of becoming “The best medium-sized hospitality management company in Southeast Asia. This plan includes the launch of new projects both domestically and internationally, while also continuously strengthening both the “Amari” brand – an ‘upper-upscale’ hotel brand to effectively meet the diverse needs of both business and leisure travellers – and the “OZO” brand, an ‘upper-middle scale’ hotel brand designed to deliver limitless happiness and smiles to meet the demand of new-generation travellers under the concept of ‘Unpack. Good. Vibes’. The Company recently submitted a filing to establish a REIT (Real Estate Investment Trust) under the ONYXRT designation, covering the “Amari” and “OZO” brands, as a mechanism to drive sustainable growth in the long term.

Mr. Yuthachai Charanachitta, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of ONYX Hospitality Group, stated that “ONYX Hospitality Group” is one of Southeast Asia’s leading hotel, resort, serviced apartment and residence management companies. Included in its management portfolio are Amari, OZO, Shama and Oriental Residence brands. Each of these brands possesses distinctive and unique qualities and strengths and can perfectly meet the diverse needs of business and leisure travellers in Thailand and the Asia-Pacific region. Currently, a total of 42 projects are in operation with the combined total of more than 7,700 rooms, in Thailand, Malaysia, China, Hong Kong, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Lao PDR.

“Last year was a strong period for ‘ONYX Hospitality Group’, driven by the recovery of the tourism and hotel sector, leading to a significant increase in occupancy rates across the Group’s hotels. Most notably, the ‘Amari’ and ‘OZO’ brands showed outstanding occupancy rates, leading to excellent business performance for the Company, with revenue of over 8,700 million baht and a gross operating profit (GOP) of over 3,400 million baht,” Mr. Yuthachai said.

Mr. Yuthachai further reiterated that in 2025, “ONYX Hospitality Group” is expected to show continuous growth with the uninterrupted expansion of its portfolio both domestically and internationally. Recently, the Group has launched new hotels in Thailand and abroad, including the opening of Amari Colombo in Sri Lanka, in December 2024; Amari Vientiane, in Lao PDR, in March 2025; Amari Bangsaen in Chonburi Province, in June 2025, and OZO Medini, in Malaysia. The steady launches of new hotels are a confirmation of the progress towards the Company’s mission of managing more than 50 hotels and lodgings within 2025, increasing to 70 hotels by 2028.

The “Amari” brand, which encompasses upscale hotels, provides a full range of services that cater to the diverse needs of both business and leisure travellers. Amari’s services are in the forms of City MICE, Urban Resort, and Resort. The hotels are situated in a variety of locations, from beach-front, to bustling city centres as well as amidst lush mountains and pristine nature. The locations also cover key destinations in Thailand, Malaysia, Lao PDR, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka. The Group is fully committed to creating memorable experiences for every stay steeped in the Amari spirit, reflected in every aspect of our services that go beyond the traditional, to meet the diverse needs of both business and leisure travellers. The brand also blends local traditions with modernity to create meaningful and memorable experiences for guests every time they stay at any Amari property. Currently, there are a total of 16 “Amari” hotels located in various countries in the Asia-Pacific region.

Meanwhile, the “OZO” brand consists of upper-middle scale hotels that exude distinctive personality emphasizing gaiety and perfection in every detail of the guests’ stay. “OZO” meets the needs of both leisure and business travellers in three main areas: Sleep (high-quality beddings and conveniences conducive for quality sleep); Connect (fast and easy online connections combined with spaces for fun activities); and, Explore (venturing out to capture inspiration and enjoyment in the locality before returning to recharge at OZO). Currently, OZO has hotels in several major cities in Thailand and Malaysia and will focus on continuously promoting the strength of the OZO brand to meet the demand of new-generation travellers under the “Unpack. Good. Vibes” concept. The Group believes that OZO will help to promote the expansion of its customer base and will be able to compete strongly in the regional market.

With a variety of brands that complement each other, “ONYX Hospitality Group” is able to meet the diverse needs of its guests and capable of creating unique and distinctive experiences. The Group enables the hotel brands to stand proud with their ability to offer differentiated and memorable experiences even in highly competitive markets, ensuring that all the needs of travellers can be met to the utmost satisfaction. Moreover, the ONYX hotel brands’ continuous development of exemplary guest experience is uninterrupted. The latest move is the groundwork for a major renovation of “Amari Phuket” and “Amari Don Muang Airport Bangkok” to perpetuate the impressive guest experience that meets the set international standards responsive to demands and to compete in the market effectively and sustainably. The Group has also invested in the development of technology, CRM systems, Martech, and direct booking platforms to fulfil the customers’ in-depth needs and to deliver personalized experiences. This includes cooperation with leading partners such as banks, credit card issuers, airlines, retail businesses, and lifestyle brands, to create a true marketing ecosystem network, and to increase the variety of benefits covering all forms of customer lifestyles. These incentives include point redemptions for accommodation, restaurants, and spas, along with benefits from our specially selected partners, among other perks, Mr. Yuthachai added.

Dr. Natkawin Jiamchoatpatanakul, Managing Director of ONYX Hospitality REIT Management Company Limited, disclosed the ongoing establishment of a trust to invest in high-potential hotels under ONYX Hospitality Group. Most recently, the filing form and application for approval to offer for sale units of the ONYX Leasehold Real Estate Investment Trust (ONYXRT) have been submitted to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to establish a portfolio of high-quality hotels with opportunities for long-term growth. The filing is currently under consideration by the SEC, with SCB Asset Management Company Limited as the trustee and ONYX Hospitality REIT Management Co., Ltd. as the REIT manager.

The assets that ONYXRT will initially invest in are: 1. Amari Bangkok, located near Ratchaprasong Intersection, which is the City’s major business and tourist area. In addition, the launch of the MRT Orange Line in the near future will further enhance the project’s potential. Amari Bangkok’s average occupancy rate last year was 82 percent; 2. Amari Pattaya; 3. OZO Pattaya. These latter two projects are located in the heart of North Pattaya, on the Pattaya Bay crescent with the beach just across the Beach Road. Myriad restaurants and shopping malls are located close by. These two properties are popular with both Thai and foreigner vacationers. The average occupancy rates last year were 80 percent and 89 percent, respectively; 4. OZO Phuket. This hotel is situated just 150 meters from Kata Beach and 850 meters from Karon Beach, and only one hour’s drive from Phuket International Airport. The average occupancy rate here last year was 86 percent.

“ONYXRT stands out from other hotel REITs due to our selection of high-quality properties in popular locations for both Thai and international visitors from all the properties managed by ONYX Hospitality Group, which has garnered over 50 years of experience in the hotel industry. In addition, the trust’s investments are diversified across multiple dimensions, with four properties to be invested, in three popular locations, and under two well-known and reputable hotel brands – all to ensure that the trust can generate consistent returns in the long run, as well as possessing the opportunity to expand its investment in other ONYX Hospitality Group’s properties well into the future,” Dr. Natkawin stressed.
