Central Pattana plc, Thailand’s no.1 real estate developer for sustainability under the vision of ‘Imagining better futures for all’ and as a ‘Place Maker’ that develops space and Retail, Residence, Hotel and Office projects – committed to improving the quality of life while caring for the community and the environment, is joining hands with leading public and private partners to continue the success of its green expo by launching ‘Better Futures Project 2024 @ G Land’ from today to 22 November 2024 to demonstrate the power to drive ‘Good Future, Sustainable Living’. Highlighted activities include discussions with world-class organizations (e.g. NASA) and leading partners such as the SET, SCG, Michelin, Unilever, Deepal by Changan, Knight Frank and many more, dealing with important topics that are catching the eye of the world, exchanging vision and creating awareness and inspiration for sustainability in our society, in addition to booths of activities that showcase environmentally-friendly innovations.
Ms. Naparat Sriwanvit, Chief Financial Officer and Senior Executive Vice President, Finance, Accounting and Risk Management for Central Pattana plc and Chief Executive Officer (Acting) Grand Canal Land plc, said: “Central Pattana’s key role is as a ‘Place Maker’ that is committed to developing space and creating experiences, connecting Place, People and Planet together while moving towards Net Zero 2050 and ensuring ‘The Ecosystem for All’ – aiming to create business sustainability – taking into account all sectors. We have continuously joined hands with partners from both the public and private sectors in the ‘Better Futures’ project and focused on expanding the results. This year, we have already organized a roadshow at the first location: centralwOrld, and expanded to six other branches: Central Westville, Central Khonkaen, Central Hatyai, Central Chiangmai, Central Si Racha and Central Lampang in addition to the National Science and Technology Fair 2024 at Impact Muang Thong Thani. The events and roadshows held throughout this year have been highly successful, with an increase in the number of attendees of more than 500,000 people. These visitors have jointly demonstrated the powerful driving force for sustainability and solutions for environmental problems such as ocean issues, waste issues, pollution issues, and greenhouse gas emissions, which are urgent issues that organizations and people around the world place importance on.”
Ms. Naparat added: “We aim to ensure that this exhibition is easy to access and helps raise awareness among the general public as well as promoting eco-lifestyles that are easy to understand and doable. With this in mind, we have launched the ‘Better Futures Project 2024 @ G Land’, with the main targets being office tenants and working-age customers, as well as other important groups of stakeholders, in line with Central Pattana’s goals to develop projects: shopping centres, residences, hotels and office buildings as the Centre of Life, to care for communities and the environment.”
To achieve the goal of Net Zero 2050, Central Pattana has joined hands with leading partners and agencies to implement strategies through three main cores: 1) Sustainability Alliance – working with partners in sustainable development and aiming to strengthen the ecosystem; 2) Green Partnership – focusing on energy management and waste management, and CSV Projects, projects that create shared value for our society while creating value for businesses; and 3) Feasibility Study for New Green Lease Format – studying and planning for ‘green leases’ to support future lease contracts for green space. This is an important step in creating truly environmentally-friendly spaces such as centralwOrld Offices and G Tower Grand Rama 9, which are projects that have received international WELL Building Standard, and with LEED and TREES certification levels. Also, Central Pattana, as the first leader in Thailand’s real estate and retail sectors, has issued a Sustainability-linked Bond to fund the development of mixed-use projects and green buildings domestically and internationally, as well as to support clean energy projects, aiming to make sustainability a reality.
