Central Pinklao, Central Pattana’s third shopping center celebrating its success for over 30 years, is preparing to create a new sensation for the Thai retail industry, with over 1.7 billion baht invested to conduct the biggest transformation in three decades for Central Pinklao, under the concept of ‘New Soul of the District’, the best premium lifestyle landmark in western Bangkok, covering over 360,000 m2 (GBA). The new Central Pinklao will fulfil the needs of customers with high purchasing power from all generations, featuring a full range of highly popular brands: over 500 brands and over 150 new trending brands are available to cover all lifestyles. We intend to capture everyone’s attention with our classic-modern design façade and exterior while the interior reflects subtle elegance and creative power. The new look of Central Pinklao will be ready to be unveiled on 6 November 2025 and is expected to increase ‘quality traffic’ by over 25-30%.
Dr. Nattakit Tangpoonsinthana, Chief Marketing Officer for Central Pattana plc, said: “Throughout its 30 years, Central Pinklao has experienced continuous development and success. Since 1995, we have been proud to be a landmark and lifestyle hub for the people of Pinklao. This transformation is a new sensation for Bangkokians that reflects the potential of the location and the people of Thonburi (western Bangkok). We have curated a portfolio of more than 500 leading brands across fashion, lifestyle, health, beauty, technology, and education, establishing the city’s new landmark. Over 150 brands – emerging trends and popular brands – will fulfil the insights of the ‘Young Gen’ and ‘New Wealth’. Meanwhile, we are maintaining our strong customer base of local residents and families, our primary target groups that make Central Pinklao a top-tier family destination in western Bangkok, covering a catchment area of over 3 million people.”
“In this transformation, we have had a complete redesign to accommodate diverse lifestyles under the concept of ‘New Soul of the District’ and created ‘The Park on Fifth’ on the 5th floor, blending classic and modern architecture with green space and an open skylight – the only one in Bangkok. Surrounded by family dining, popular cafés and food patios, ‘The Park on Fifth’ will be the best casual lifestyle food destination in the neighborhood. We have also revived the legendary landmark of the 6.2 m tall ‘Statue of Augustus’ and given it a new look,” Dr. Nattakit continued.
Central Pinklao is the first mixed-use project in this area, comprising shopping center and two office buildings located in a prime location that connects the Silom, Sathorn and Yaowarat CBDs together in addition to three train lines (Blue Line MRT, Orange Line MRT, and Light Red SRT). Central Pinklao is also surrounded by educational institutions, government agencies, hospitals and premium residences. This transformation will be a key piece of the puzzle to help strengthen our shopping center portfolio in western Bangkok in terms of quality purchasing power, and also serves as a premium lifestyle hub for all generations – evidenced by the fact that Tops Food Hall at Central Pinklao ranked third in the country for the largest sales volume in 2025, while Central department store at Central Pinklao ranked fourth in sales,” Dr. Nattakit added.
