Pruksa reinforces its mission to create sustainable business growth by moving forward according to the investment strategy in the second half of 2022. It has expanded new businesses by setting up a joint venture company to provide solar cell services, along with continuing the mission of healthcare by opening the first “ViMUT Wellness” in the Pruksa Avenue Bangna-Wongwaen area, as well as enhancing the commitment of innovation for the best quality of living through joint investments in high-potential prop-tech and health-tech startups in Thailand and abroad under “Corporate Venture Capital (CVC).” In addition, Pruksa has had joint investments with strong connections with companies for the continuity of strategic investment.

Mr. Uten Lohachitpitaks, Group Chief Executive Officer of Pruksa Holding Public Company Limited, revealed the business performance in the second quarter of 2022 with total revenue of 5,389 million baht with an improving gross profit margin at 31% and a net profit of 430 million baht, growing when compared to the same period of the last year.  Pruksa has maintained a strong financial position very well. It also has a low net gearing ratio at 0.39x. Meanwhile, the real estate business has presales of 6,342 million baht, a 19% growth from the previous quarter with a total transfer amount of 5,101 million baht with an improving gross profit margin at 32.4% and a net profit of 527 million baht.

Pruksa has launched 8 projects in the first half of the year with a total value of 3,627 million baht. Based on the operating results in the first half of the year, therefore, Pruksa approved the payment of interim dividends for the year 2022 to shareholders at the rate of 0.31 baht per share. In the second half of 2022, Pruksa has planned to open 23 new projects, comprising 15 townhouse projects, 5 single detached house projects, and 3 condominium projects, with a total value of 12,700 million baht.

Pruksa is committed to create sustainable growth under the concept of “PRUKSA… Heart to Home, Tomorrow. Reimagined” by focusing on 3 core principles according to global megatrends, namely lifestyle disruption, health & wellness trends and sustainability development.

Pruksa strategically focuses on sustainable business model. The company has recently joined hands with Gunkul Engineering Public Company Limited to establish a joint venture company under the name “Pun New Energy Company Limited” with a shareholding ratio of 50:50. This collaboration with Gunkul Engineering is an extension and creates new strengths for Pruksa’s projects. This business’s goal is to sell and install solar roof models, both Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) and Private Power Purchase Agreement (PPA). The project value is around 1,500 million baht. This can help clients reduce their investment and use electricity from renewable energy, including providing an electricity bill calculation that helps reduce this expense for clients as well.  The services could serve more than 12,500 households and reduce approximately 126,000 tons of CO2 emissions within 5 years. Moreover, there is a plan to experiment with a village model that uses solar energy instead of electricity and to expand into an energy storage technology business in the future. This is considered to be beneficial to the residents in saving electricity costs and helping to preserve the environment in the long run.

In terms of health & wellness missions, Mr. Uthen revealed that ViMUT Hospital has been certified by the Healthcare Accreditation Institute (Public Organization) for HA Stage 2. In the second quarter of 2022, hospital operations revenue of ViMUT Phaholyothin Hospital was 203 million baht; grew 26% from the previous quarter. In addition to the services in the hospital with an increase in medical teams and specialized medical equipment in several centers, ViMUT has also expanded its services outside the hospital to help improve the health care of Thai people with an investment of 90 million baht to build the first family and elderly healthcare and rehabilitation center named “ViMUT Wellness,” which will be open for service from August 12, 2022 onwards. Since the concept of “Live Well, Stay Well” is the beginning of a good life both today and the future, Pruksa has brought ViMUT Wellness to take part in the development of Pruksa Avenue Bangna Wongwaen to develop housing ranging from designing homes to be healthy homes for all ages to providing home healthcare services by specialists, including online services (Telemedicine) to create the project to be the first complete wellness living community in the real estate industry.

This ViMUT Wellness provides hospital services ranging from physical therapy, general medical examination and treatment, blood examination, health check, vaccination, hydrotherapy, elderly care services on daily/weekly/monthly basis by a team of family medicine doctors, cardiologists, and multidisciplinary for 24 hours. This is considered an investment in healthcare services that meet the needs of accessing health services from home and makes residents of the project and nearby communities feel at ease because there is the hospital within reach. It is another step that fulfills Pruksa’s model of healthy home development, which aims to combine strengths of 2 businesses, both Real Estate and Healthcare.

Mr. Uthen concluded that with the trend of lifestyle disruption technology has clearly played a big role in people’s lives. Pruksa places emphasis on its commitment to innovation for living and healthy life. Previously, Pruksa has invested in Thai startups in Prop Tech and Health Tech through the Corporate Venture project. In the first half of the year, Pruksa invested in “Naluri,” a Malaysia-based digital preventive wellness provider, and “AMILI,” a precision gut health company which is Southeast Asia’s first and only precision gut microbiome company from Singapore.

All of them are the operations of Pruksa Group that focuses on expanding new business opportunities through a synergistic strategy with internal and external partners to create new businesses and services that can promote living and develop the best quality of living for all Thai people.
