The Association of Siamese Architects under the Royal Patronage of His Majesty and TTF International Co., Ltd announced the opening of Architect Expo 2018 under the concept “Beyond Ordinary” focusing on Vernacular Living, to be held from May 1-6, 2018 at Challenger Hall 1-3, Impact Exhibition and Convention Center , Muang Thong Thani. The expo aims to showcase local architectural design in the Thai contemporary lifestyle, ultimate technology and innovation for the construction business. The Architect Expo is expected to generate more than 10 billion baht in revenue.

“The Architect Expo is the biggest exhibition of architectural technology and building materials in Southeast Asia. It has been held annually since 1986 and this is our 32nd time hosting,” said Mr. Atchapol Dusitanon, Chairman of the Association of Siamese Architects under the Royal Patronage of His Majesty, “Our main goal is to showcase state-of-the-art products, innovative construction technology, architecture-related materials, interior design, and landscape architecture. We put together many exhibitions, activities, and multinational seminars that cater to both members and the general public.”

“ The concept for this year’s Architect Expo is Vernacular Living,” added Mr. Poom Supakijjanusan, Chairman of the Subcommittee on Construction of the Architect Expo 2018. “The expo aims to illustrate through various exhibitions and activities how local architecture responds to contemporary changes and challenges such as economic globalization, global warming, and rural-urban migration. It will also focus on the process by which architectural and local design in the Thai contemporary lifestyle responds to such changes.”

“The Architect Expo 2018 aims to raise the profile of both exhibitors and visitors, reinforcing being one of ASEAN’s most innovative construction products exhibitions,” said Mr. Supaman Munka, Deputy Managing Director of TTF International Co., Ltd. “We have received great response from both Thai and international leading organizers. There is an increase of 35% in foreign companies from Asia, Europe and America attending the event this year, including China, Taiwan, South Korea, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, India, Australia, Vietnam, and the Czech Republic. We will also get to experience state-of-the-art construction technology from IMAG GmbH, affiliates of Germany’s Messe Munchen who organize BAU, the world’s most famous and biggest architecture expo.”

In addition to the exhibitions and pavilions, Architect Expo 2018 also gathers knowledge through various activities such as contest, booth display, student exhibitions, product knowledge, workshops, seminars and conferences. An academic seminar ASA Forum 2018 will also be held at the expo by prominent international architects and designers including David Van Severen from  OFFICEKGDVS studio in Belgium, Yung Ho Chang from Atelier Feichang Jianzhu in China, Han Tümertekin, winner of Aga Khan Award from Turkey, Manuelle Gautrand, winner of the European Prize for Architecture from France.

The Architect Expo 2018 will be held on May 1-6, 2018, from 10.00-20.00 hrs. at Challenger Hall 1-3, Impact Exhibition and Convention Center, Muang Thong Thani.
